GreenGuard and LEED Rated Projects

The Green Movement is growing. Now more than ever, businesses and customers are doing their best to be environmentally conscious in their decisions. The amount of green consumers are growing, they are currently around 24% of the population. Green consumers are known to be loyal and they seek out brands that have a great sustainability story. By using GreenGuard™ Certified products and building LEED® rated buildings; these consumers will be much more likely to support you. 3M products are here to help make it easier.
You may be wondering what do GreenGuard™ Certified products even mean. The GreenGuard Certification ProgramSM is a private third party program organized by GreenGuard Environmental Institute (GEI). This institute wants to improve public health and quality of life by making sure indoor air quality is at an acceptable standard. The GreenGuard™ certification basically allows builders and consumers to know that this product is indoor air friendly. 3M has numerous products that are GreenGuard™ certified.
3M products can also assist builders and manufacturers who are pursuing LEED® rated projects. LEED® certifies projects, not products. They have a rating system developed by the United States Green Building Council. LEED® rating system awards points to buildings if they meet requirements in five areas: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor air quality. LEED® rated projects can really benefit the builder through tax relief and lower permit fees, greater energy efficiency, and a better image in the community to just name a few. GreenGuard certified products can help builders to have LEED® rated buildings. LEED® rated buildings ensure not only the builders, but future users of that building that it meets high sustainable and environmental standards.
When trying to build a LEED®building, 3M has plenty of products, including adhesives, which could help. 3M has SIX adhesives that have been certified byGreenGuard™ at their highest standard. Not only does 3M haveGreenGuard™ Certified products, we also have other products with other green factors. They have a variety of high solids/low-VOC adhesives.
